Associate Induction
We will be running an induction session for any new Associates or Members who have joined during previous months.
If you’re not quite sure how the IAM and IAM RoadSmart Solent are linked, or how the training sessions will be run, or perhaps you’re not aware that there is a social side of the Group … anything that is on offer over and above improving your riding skills.
The induction sessions will set out to answer these types of questions, and to encourage new joiners to play an active part in their Group. These are open sessions with no topics off-limits; they are run in a relaxed, informal manner to encourage questions and discussion along the lines of ‘what have I bought?’ … ‘how will training be managed?’ … ‘what else does IAM RoadSmart Solent have to offer me?’.
Tip Top Motorcycle Tours
We will be joined this month by Jez and Ed of Tip Top Motorcycle Tours.
Tip Top Tours is a local business and was formed last year in 2025 by 3 friends who have been running tours for family and friends for years.

With this team at the helm, you’re guaranteed a ride that’s safe, smooth, and full of stories worth sharing.
Why not check out their website here:
Bring & Buy
We will have the Bring & Buy table set up.
Why not have a look thorough the garage, shed, cupboards or anywhere else that you put things for “safe keeping” and have a clear-out.
If you’ve got nothing to bring, then come along and browse the selection of wares; you may find a bargain or two and, while you’re browsing you can tuck into a selection of breakfast fare from the kitchen.
The rules are simple:
Items must be clean, in good condition and suitable for resale.
The seller is to provide a piece of paper, detailing the item and the price.
The contract is between the seller and the buyer. IAM RoadSmart Solent’s only involvement is providing the venue.
There is no cost for selling an item but, if you are feeling generous, then we are sure that a local charity would accept a donation from the proceeds.
Say hello to your hosts
Our hosts will be wandering around the site in their fetching blue hi-vis vests to meet and welcome everyone. Please say hi to these wonderful people when you arrive!

Extra Session - Theory Refresher
Theory Refresher
If you’re planning a riding test, doing your Masters, considering becoming an observer or simply feel a bit rusty on the core principles of Advanced Riding, then this may well be for you.
It is a classroom based session that focuses on three of the core aspects of the IPSGA System; OAP, Overtaking and Positioning, but also explores your attitude to riding and what makes a successful Advanced Rider.
It is designed to be a fully participative session, such that everyone who comes along will actively play a part. We will be using real life situations to explore what you would do in the circumstances and why.
We are limited on numbers, and can manage up to 30 attendees, so if you are interested in coming along for what will be both a bit of fun, but with a serious message, then drop a message using the button below and I’ll add you to the attendance list. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

We are limited on numbers, and can manage up to 30 attendees, so if you are interested in coming along for what will be both a bit of fun, but with a serious message, then WATCH THIS SPACE.

Planning for Rally - Focusing on the South West Peninsula.
Have you ever considered taking part in one of the various national and local rallies that are held throughout the riding year?
Whilst the ACU have cancelled this year’s National and Welsh, the Southwest Peninsula is still going ahead on the 5th April. Come along to hear Graeme Hay give you some tips and tricks after his years of experience doing this both as a solo entrant and as a team member.
Even if you don’t manage one this year, get a feel for what’s involved for a future adventure.
From planning the stops, what to carry, where to start, set realistic goals, etc.
Graeme will look to cover:
What it is.
How to enter.
How the various awards are achieved.
How to plan your route, easily.
How to plan your riding time, rest breaks and personal safety.
To answer each and all of interested members questions.
If you would like to learn more and still have time to enter then contact training using the button below to reserve a spot.
